After having excellent weather flying here last Tuesday and then again on Wednesday when I gave my friends rides, the weather has not been so good.

It rained on Thursday and here is a screenshot of the weather at the local airports and along my route back to Maryland. This is from Friday and the “LIFR” is a reference translated means “low instrument flight rules”. The worst category this program will display. It has not improved much since then.

I just checked on Niner-Zero. She is tied down at Chatham Airport. If you look closely you can see that even the seagulls are not flying. They are all parked on the runway. the visibility is about 3/4 of a mile and the ceiling is at 200 feet. The weather is not supposed to improve today (Sunday), perhaps some tomorrow. I am hoping to be able to get out of here on Tuesday. The forecast is for the fog to burn off by 9:00 AM on Tuesday and that will allow me to get on my way. The weather off the Cape is not great but flyable. I only need to be inland about 15-20 miles to escape the fog but that is not possible on Cape Cod. So, I wait.
